Welcome to Night-Owl-Knits

blue, pink, red, light green yarn

Who we are…

Night Owl Knits has been born from trying to juggle my love of knitting, and the realities of chasing my two little boys around during the day (which I also love!). While I sometimes dare to knit during the day, I find I am saying, “Let me finish this row” more often than I want. So I tend to save my cozy knitting times at night, when sometimes, if I am lucky and quiet enough I can hear the faint hooting of owls outside my window.

My goal of this blog is to teach knitting skills (basic ones such as knitting or purling, and more complex ones such as brioche or entrelac knitting). You should also be inspired to produce something beautiful with that one skein or small ball of yarn—or your growing stash of “just have to have it” yarns.

I love searching for different ideas and either following them or piecing them together to make my own creation. I will provide some of these ideas that I have come up with, and show what other beautiful knitters have created.

I hope within these pages you find the courage to start knitting for the first time, or the motivation to make something again or new. Knitting is such a beautiful art and I cannot wait for you to discover its charm and be inspired.

Happy knitting!
